John Wenzel wrote September 2017 in The Cannabist … being the first state to debut recreational cannabis on Jan. 1, 2014, there are puzzling gaps in Colorado’s otherwise tightly packed weed culture. Dozens of cannabis-themed cultural events, from comedy and hip-hop shows to classical-music fundraisers and fashion gatherings, have waved their green flags over the state in the last three years….
He goes on to remark that Colorado has hosted its first substantial marijuana-centric film festival in Fort Collins, The Cannabus Culture Film Festival, sponsored by Infinite Wellness Center, Willie’s Reserve and others…. He says, ….the federal illegality of cannabis and its long-simmering cultural stigma have largely kept it off most programmers’ radars …even as states have increasingly legalized pot across the board…Read the entire article here. According to the June 2017 Colorado Medical Marijuana Registry report, almost 84,000 Coloradans have an active Medical Marijuana registration and 651 physicians have recommended Medical Marijuana for one or more patients on the registry. The average age of the men is 43 and the average age of the women in 47. Cannabis is simply the scientific name given to the Marijuana plant. In recent years, scientific studies have demonstrated the health benefits of Cannabis and certain chemicals contained within the plant, namely THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). Cannabinoids are the chemical substances contained within Cannabis that can be extracted and isolated.
In recent years, Americans have sought to decriminalize and legalize Cannabis for recreational & medicinal purposes. Some states, such as Colorado, have legalized the plant for recreational use much like alcohol. The regulation and legality of Cannabis & Hemp for has been left up to each individual state and U.S. territory. Consequently, while many states and territories have passed legislation making the distribution and use of Cannabis legal for patients diagnosed with cancers and other medical conditions, others still arrest and jail innocent patients and recreational users.
With the federal government agreeing with researchers and patients that there are, in fact, many medicinal benefits for cancer patients, one has to wonder when the use of Cannabis for medical purposes will become common across all fifty states.
Judge Travis Lippert, Veedverks, remarks: “Our hemp-derived CBD contains only minuscule trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive chemical that can trigger a positive result on a drug test. The legal limit is 0.3% of THC, and we have our CBD oil laboratory tested to ensure it is well below that amount. In theory, it is possible to consume so much legal CBD oil to accumulate enough THC in your system that it could show up on a test. That said, we have had multiple very frequent users test themselves, and not once has our product ever triggered a positive, or even questionable, test result.
